[he's not that close to the library, but even with the base under construction it isn't that big, so it only takes him a few minutes to get there. he plops down on a chair opposite of mikleo and checks to see if he's reading anything new.]

I don't know about controversial. But I thought about it! Or, I thought about it more than I did before. It's...kind of overwhelming to consider? I don't have any idea of what to expect, but it'd be nice. Dating, I mean. Or maybe not even that, just--getting to know someone one-on-one like that. I don't have a problem with that, especially if it's with someone I, you know, like.

But I meant what I said before, too. I'm not lonely, because you're here with me, and Rose and Alisha are here too. I've met a lot of great people here, but I don't really see any of them like that. The act of dating isn't as much of a problem as having someone to date. And I wouldn't want to jump into a relationship on a whim, just to try it, you know? That doesn't seem fair to anyone.

You wouldn't consider, say, a more laid-back date? Something where you were with a friend, and they knew you wanted to try out that one-on-one experience to get to know them better, but it's not romantic, up front?

[rose may actually have been on to something with the whole 'he doesn't think about those dating things because he has you' line of reasoning, especially when he takes a breath to make date suggestions based on the 1950s videos and realizes they're mostly things they already do]

...well, you've put me on the spot. I wouldn't mind doing most stuff with you, though, really, but if we're trying to go for something more, um, special, then...it'll have to be something outside our routine. Something we haven't tried before.

What about the Halloween party? You can go on dates to parties. We could do that.
