[you plunge, without warning, into water. it's pure and clear and refreshingly cold, a flurry of bubbles rising around you; you can breathe it, somehow, and move with ease. there's a distant beat at the edge of your hearing, a tidal pulse keeping time in this place.

it's hard to get your bearings. but if you look up towards the surface where the bubbles rise, it's dark, and if you look down, there's a faint bluish luminescence far below you.

[loosens up his hold...guess Sorey has both his hands now, oops]

...I think we might be kind of bad at romance.

[he is keeping Mikleo's hands now]

We can work on it. But all you really need for romance is two people that love each other.

I could recite romantic poetry to you if you're looking for something special, but I get the feeling that wouldn't work out too well.

[but since he has Mikleo's hands held captive, he lifts one of them up and kisses the back of it. romance.]

[--lets go of his hand. was he supposed to ask before kissing??? did he ruin it, did he break mikleo]

[LOOKS BETRAYED WHEN SOREY DROPS HIS HAND]

Hey!

S-sorry! You surprised me.

I surprised you!

[imsorey]

You did! I thought I freaked you out!

I want a proper kiss, that's all!

[imsorey]

[looking relieved, and then perplexed]

That was a proper kiss!

[oneandmikleonly]

Sorey.

[tugs him forward in exasperation]

[imsorey]

[he quickly picks up on what a proper kiss would be and, realizing he took a metaphorical step back instead of forward, takes Mikleo's face in his hands again. and just, blushes furiously]

[oneandmikleonly]

[tilts his face up toward him, pricked into determination instead of return embarrassment]

Well...?

[imsorey]

[exhaling through his nose in an amused huff before closing the distance between them and giving him a gentle kiss on the lips, tentatively pushing it to be something deeper]

[oneandmikleonly]

[for all his huffiness, he lets out the tiniest 'oh' when Sorey kisses him on the mouth; it sounds surprised and fond, his lips parting slightly under Sorey's, leaning forward into him as he kisses back

neither of them is very good at this, but you can't deny they do it with feeling]

[they have nothing else to compare it to, at least, so collective inexperience is nothing to hold them back. Sorey's hands slip to the back of Mikleo's neck, tilting his head up just a little bit more and pressing closer to him, pausing only when he remembers he needs to breathe]

[Mikleo's wide-eyed when Sorey pulls back, an arm around Sorey and both hands curled into the fabric of his shirt...there's a hint of a smile tucked into the corners of his mouth. they're warm.]

[Sorey's heart feels like it's in his throat, fluttering unevenly with every breath he takes. When willing his heart to calm doesn't work, he leans forward and kisses the soft edge of Mikleo's lips as if he's trying to catch that smile.]

There's more where that came from.

[gasps]

Not--not here, we're going to wind up falling off the cliff--

[sighing and burying his face in Mikleo's shoulder, still trying to settle his heart]

Okay, okay. Not here. But that was...nice.

...yeah.

[his hand creeps up to smooth Sorey's hair]

I think...we'll be all right.
